I'm Ready For My Close-Up

I spent some time this weekend finishing up the Larry Bird: A Day in the Life video. Here is the MPEG. Also, an MPEG of the video clip that inspired my idea for a film about Jeremy making a film.

Remember, the Larry Bird video was shot ten years ago on Video8 and captured at that time to 160x120 QuickTime. So, it's rough, and cross-fades were the hot thing back then. It's rough, but loveable.

Want a tragedy? The Boston Garden was imploded not too long after.

It was interesting to watch myself imitating Quinten from the intro/outro to Chungking Express.

On a side note: Tell Angie that I don't like her lyrics either.

OK, I just watched the Bird movie. That is one of the funniest things that I've ever seen. Unintentional comedy all the way.

I didn't realize we had so much footage. Like the shots of Rob/Mike/You in the locker room. Where were those taken? For those who don't know, Rob was Robert Parish, Mike was Dennis Johnson and I think Josh was trying to be either Bill Walton or Scott Wedman (does it really matter).

The special effects of me walking/running in the Garden were hilarious. Hilariously good!

I was Danny Ainge. Come now, that was spot on. Those shots were from the Joshua J. Provost Memorial Gymnasium. I used all the footage I had. Had to improvise an ending that didn't involve all of the game footage, but the timing ended up just right.

Oh, so you heard the 12 Brothers track. Yak, yak, yak, get a job! You get up way too early.

The 12 Brothers track was pretty good. Too bad you only did one verse. How much does this show you that Josh needs to be the singer in The Moon Is No More?

It was entertaining. Yes, hilariously good effects. Plus it's funny to see you guys young.

What's better than the fact that the first word uttered is "Sheet!"

Man, you guys were very young. So that Boston Garden footage is like...historical now, eh?

And you have no problem saying "sheet," but have to revamp Sans Hands. OK.

Hey, at least we did some special effects. You have no idea how strange it is to rotoscope your brother. I got to frame 21 and I'm like, "Why am I doing this?"

Original budget: somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000. Budget to complete: 2 euros, membership to a commercial archive site to pull the Michael Jordan dialog.

Did anyone notice that Jeremy goes topless in this video? Very nice, we captured him in his prime. As was alluded to in recent posts, there is a lot more Jeremy to love nowadays.

There was supposed to be a nude shower scene, but Jeremy had a "no nudity" clause in his contract. It would have been modest, rear nudity only. The thought was to start the camera at his feet and raise the camera all the way up to his shampoo'd head.

Would have been a nice shot. I thought it was in the spirit of the film. Oh, well.

My prime? I'm trimming down and feeling good. I went for a 3 mile run last night and didn't even feel winded. Its not like I'm huge or anything. I'm actually probably normal weight. Why am I even having this conversation?

3.5 mile run this morning. Feeling really good ...
